Erik Putzier of West St. Paul passed away at his home Friday, Sept. 29, after a long battle with depression. He was born on April 24, 1974, in Hutchinson, Minnesota, and was 43 years old when he passed. His celebration of life was held on Friday, Oct. 6, at Kok Funeral Home in Cottage Grove, Minnesota.Erik moved with his family to Cynthiana, Kentucky, and then Cottage Grove, Minnesota, where he graduated from high school. He had participated in football, wrestling and baseball. After graduation he worked in the auto parts business and most recently as an assistant manager at Walgreen's.Erik had a passion for motorcycle racing as he competed at Brainerd International Raceway for several years. He also enjoyed deer hunting until his health deteriorated. He was specially fond of spending time with his daughter Kaitlyn.Erik is survived by his daughter Kaitlyn; parents, Cheryl and Gene Putzier; sister Kelli Albon; nephews, Adam and Chase; grandmother LuVerne Putzier; and longtime friend Kerri Koch; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
